ニンフ ボディ 8-11ｍｍ テール １５ｍｍ ダン ボディ 8-11ｍｍ テール １６ｍｍ ニュージーランド全域にわたって生息。あらゆるタイプの水に適応し、かなりまとまって生息している。大きなギルが横に突き出し、ゆっくりと動いているのが特徴。足のマークは個体差が大きいので、種同定にはあまり役立たない。 北島では９月中ばからハッチを初め、１０月後半１１月にピークを迎える。年に一回の産卵は１１月には終わってしまう。ただし、南島のネルソンレイクスあたりでは、１月くらいまでアダルトが見られることがある。 非常によく似た種類で、羽化の時期が違うものに、Deleatidium autumnaleがある。 ハッチは早朝が多く、ピークは大概午前中にある。拡大してみると、それぞれの足の先端が非対称の爪になっており、一つは鋭く、もう一つは鈍い。これはDeleatidiumの特徴で、Zephlebiaとはこれで分けられる。 羽化の仕方は、水面羽化。 |

Leg marking vary. It starts hatching around mid September and peak is around the end of October to early November in North Island. However in more southern area, adults can be caught as late as January. Usually the peak is in morning. Nymph clings from the water surface and hatch. |
